Board of Directors

The Board of Directors meets the first Wednesday of the month. Due to government directives surrounding COVID-19 and public gatherings, all scheduled meetings at the TAVA office will be held virtually until it is deemed safe to resume in person. Please email info@thirdavenuevillage.com with any questions regarding meeting participation.

The Board’s responsibility is to act in a fiduciary role by maintaining oversight of the nonprofit’s finances. Board members evaluate financial policies, approve annual budgets, review periodic financial reports to ensure that the organization has the necessary resources and participate in organizational planning and decision-making process in order to carry out the Association’s mission.

The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is comprised of the Executive Officers of the Board of Directors and meets the fourth Tuesday of the month. District Identity & Placemaking Committee

The Promotional Committee meets the third Tuesday of the month. Due to government directives surrounding COVID-19 and public gatherings, all scheduled meetings at the TAVA office will be held virtually until it is deemed safe to resume in person. Please email info@thirdavenuevillage.com with any questions regarding meeting participation.

The committee’s purpose is to oversee projects or programs that include those that market and promote the District or promote positive aspects of Third Avenue Village. Those projects or programs may include branding of the District, public relations and social media oversight, e-newsletter, special events, website development and management, banner program, streetscape issues including landscaping design, tree selection, festival poles, holiday decorations, visual linkages, new public spaces projects, improvements to public spaces in the District, public art, District walking maps, brochures, pedestrian signage.

Civil Sidewalks Committee

The Civil Sidewalks Committee meetings will be set soon. Due to government directives surrounding COVID-19 and public gatherings, all scheduled meetings at the TAVA office will be held virtually until it is deemed safe to resume in person. The committee’s purpose is to oversee in-house or maintenance provider contracts involved in the improvement of the public rights-of-way, including sidewalk sweeping, steam cleaning, landscaping, personnel, and non-personnel expenses. Relations with Chula Vista Police Department and Public Works Department.

Land-Use & Project Review Committee

The Land-Use & Project Review Committee meetings will be set soon. Due to government directives surrounding COVID-19 and public gatherings, all scheduled meetings at the TAVA office will be held virtually until it is deemed safe to resume in person. The committee’s purpose is to oversee and make recommendations on parking, transportation, mobility, planning, zoning, link to Trolley station, review of new developments, and outdoor dining encroachments.
