What We Do

The mission of the Third Avenue Village Association is to create, promote and champion a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly destination, leading to increased sales, property values and community pride.

The Third Avenue Village Association is a non-profit business organization that provides representation and services to two dedicated business districts primarily located on Third Avenue, Chula Vista, California. The Property Based Improvement District (PBID) represents 265 parcels and encompasses approximately a 16-block area along the Third Avenue commercial corridor, bounded roughly by E Street to the north, Church Avenue to the east, Landis Avenue to the west and I Street to the south. It also includes one block on F Street. The PBID funds are utilized to provide professional staffing that develops, anticipates, and responds to the environmental and economic development needs of the district and its members.

The Business Improvement District (BID) includes businesses within the same area except ending at H Street to the south. All businesses who are in good standing with the City of Chula Vista on their business license fees are members of the district. In 2017, TAVA represented 440 business members. BID funds assist TAVA in promoting the district to residents and investors within Chula Vista and the County of San Diego through district events and marketing campaigns. When needed, TAVA staff serves as a liaison with the City of Chula Vista.

In addition to marketing the district, TAVA maintains the enhanced appearance of the district with our maintenance crew who work seven days a week.

Maintenance & Beautification

Clean and Safe

Each day the TAVA Crew members are dedicated to providing enhanced maintenance and landscape services to the property owner within the Third Avenue Village district. These services include sidewalk cleaning, pressure washing, homeless clean up, and graffiti abatement.

The landscape service provided by TAVA assures the property owners and the City of Chula Vista that the district will be maintained at a level beyond the basic services provided by the City. The visual cleanliness and landscape foliage provides a more welcoming street environment that encourages visitors and investors to choose Third Avenue as a destination.
